One that we’ve enjoyed is Wupatki National Monument. Kids can do the Junior Ranger Program there. Remains of the largest Pueblo in the area from 800 years ago.

Favorite hikes
Hike right from the cabin: See previous webpage with video. Written instructions are provided for guests at the cabin.
Lockett Meadow: The place to visit for to see the autumn color palate in the aspen trees. The drive up there is a little harrowing (narrow and one way in some places as it hugs the mountain) but lots of hikes once you get there. Great picture opportunities!

Beaver Creek Area: Hike to a swimming hole called “The Crack” About 3-4 mile hike in with refreshing cold water to jump into when you arrive--the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! This is very near Sedona (a day long adventure). A difficult hike if you continue past the first swimming hole. Carlos has led groups further in. Several creek crossings are required.
